Byline and responsibility

Every article is published under the Muftar byline. The publication, not an individual contributor, is accountable for what appears here.

Sourcing

Articles list the documents, filings, datasets, statements and interviews they rest on. Where a source cannot be named, the article explains why and what kind of source it is. Claims that cannot be substantiated are not published.

Timestamps and updates

Each article shows when it was published and, where applicable, when it was last updated. Developing stories are revised in place with the update time changed, rather than republished as new items.

Corrections

Factual errors are corrected promptly and disclosed on the article itself. A correction notice states what was wrong and what changed. Silent edits to correct substantive mistakes are not acceptable.

Independence and disclosure

Reporting is independent of Muftar's commercial interests. Where a story touches Muftar or a commercial partner, the relationship is disclosed in the article. Advertising and sponsorship are clearly labelled, visually separated from editorial content, and never placed over or inside the flow of a story in a way that implies endorsement.

What we do not publish

We do not publish unverified breaking claims, synthetic traffic or readership metrics, placeholder content, or stories written to serve an advertiser.
